What personal data we collect and why we collect it

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Contact forms

If you contact us with the contact form, all information entered in the form will be corrected and kept indefinitely to provide the service, support or other reasons. We use Google form for the contact forms, so the information is corrected with the Google infrastructure and stored in the Google environment. Please refer to the privacy policy of Google. To better serve your inquiry or support request in a timely manner, we may share your personal information entered in the form with the partner without your prior consent.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

Course Registration

We use a service from the third party to manage the course registration and the payment. The information entered in the registration will be stored by the third party and will be shared with the payment processing company and another course providers and their instructors. The course providers includes us. The service provider and the contact information will be listed on the registration screen. Please refer to the privacy policy of the service company before you entering the registration information.

Analytics

We analyze information such as web traffic, comments, devices and browser used to see our website, course registration information, emails and other communication with you internally and with external tools such as Google Analytics and other third-party tools.

We may generate the aggregated data without personally identifiable information for marketing and research purpose.

Who we share your data with

If you register a course with our web site, we share your data with the registration service company, the payment processing company, the vendor or individual that provide the course and the instructors to conduct our business and provide the services to you. If the course is provided by a school, a school district or a PTA, we also share your data with them to conduct the operation.

Our attorneys and accountants may have access to your data as needed basis.

If you use the contact form, we store your data in the Google environment. If you leave a comment on the website, the information is stored in an Amazon AWS environment.

We do not sell your data for the monetary purpose or share your data with other NPOs. However, we may share aggregated data without any personally identifiable data with other organizations and may publish the aggregated data for research and marketing purpose.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us.
